SS1: Sustainable Governance and Social Responsibility based on Artificial Intelligence Approaches (SGSR-AI)
Co-Chairs: Nader Abdelmalek, Cyprien Gilet, Marie-Hélène Abel, University of Technology of Compiègne, France
Description
Sustainable development and Social Responsibility are challenging for organizations. It can improve organizational resilience, create economic value and contribute to a healthy ecosystem and a strong community. As more and more organizations adopt sustainable development, they will need to apply higher governance standards and gain a thorough understanding of their social and environmental impact in order to remain competitive and responsible. A robust approach to sustainable development requires a clear strategy, good governance and high-quality corporate reporting that addresses the full range of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. The goal of the SGSR-AI workshop is to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners involved in different and complementary AI domains to confront research results and discuss key problems regarding SGSR.
The scope of SGSR-AI includes, but is not limited to the following topics:
Information and Knowledge System: Structuring and managing heterogeneous data to support reporting and planning.
Ontology-based systems: Formalizing concepts and relationships (e.g., SDGs, taxonomies, etc.) to enable semantic interoperability and automated reasoning.
Decision support systems: Aiding stakeholders in navigating complex trade-offs between economic, environmental, and social objectives through computational models.
Context-Aware Systems: Leveraging real-time situational data to deliver dynamic and adaptive sustainable solutions.
LLM and ethics: Investigating the ethical dimensions of applying Large Language Models to sustainability.
Hybrid AI: Integrating symbolic reasoning with data-driven machine learning to create more robust and interpretable models for complex sustainability challenges.
Frugal AI: Designing computationally efficient AI systems that minimize their own environmental footprint while addressing sustainability problems.
Robust Machine Learning: Developing models that maintain high performance and reliability when faced with the noisy, incomplete, or adversarial data common in sustainability applications.
XAI (Explainable AI): Enhancing the transparency and auditability of AI-driven sustainability decisions to foster trust, accountability, and regulatory compliance.
Bioinformatics: Development or use of AI algorithms/software for understanding and processing biological data, particularly when the datasets are large and complex, to enhance sustainable development and social responsibility.
